Residence Inn by Marriott Cedar Rapids

It has the prettiest lobby that we've seen in a while, but they are poised to begin a renovation anyway. The gnome theme is ADORABLE! Their customer service is exceptional. 5 stars, highly recommend!

Driving to Door County Wisconsin from Colorado in a 3-day short drive/day trip. Second night was at this hotel and stayed again on the way home. Very dog friendly which is a must for us, and we felt very welcome. Full refrigerator was very nice to keep the haul of cheese we brought back. The night clerk that checked us in named Jessica was one of the friendliest people we've encountered at our many Marriott stays. Her demeanor is genuine and not just the usual customer service routine. She checked us in again on our return stay with the same charm. Welcomes like this make travelling so much better; thank you Jessica. I gave her a one-day old Wisconsin cherry Kringle because I didn't think it would make it home, and I would rather give it to her than waste it. The rest of the staff we encountered were all friendly as well. Will stay here if were ever that way again. Our two stays in Nebraska were the complete opposite and I'm not sure they're happy to see Asians in Nebraska, but Jessica treated us as valuable guests!

Very friendly staff. When I arrived onsite the front desk was nice enough to tell me that they were having a social gathering if I wanted to check it out once I was situated. The hotel itself though could use an update. There was chipping in the paint in the room and the bathroom seemed very dated. Did surprise me a bit for a Marriott. Not a deal breaker, if you are passing through for a night or two NOT bad just something to consider. Be aware I did notice the carpet in the hallways is not friendly to Wheeled Luggage bags. I think a coat of paint in the halls would go along way. Elevator is also very small put two roller bags and 2 adults in there and there's not much room left.

We stayed last night because we live in a mobile home and there were severe storms and tornado threats and the room was clean beautiful and spacious! The staff was very friendly and it felt like we were at home! We will definitely be coming back!

Stayed there over the weekend for my son’s birthday party, from the moment I walked in the environment felt like home, the way the GM has the lobby decorated with valentines stuff is beyond adorable. I was very impressed by their rates, as I did a last minute booking and normally rates are very high during the weekend, and/or sold out, this hotel was super reasonable! I was in a 2 bed suite, the room was perfect, clean and the housekeepers were very accommodating. Deanna at the front desk was very helpful and sweet, the girl that worked overnights was also helpful and nice. This morning I was running behind as I had 7 kids, they all wanted to go swimming, Jessica at the front desk was very understanding and let us have a late check out, over all the whole staff at this hotel know exactly how to treat their guest and made it a wonderful stay. Will definitely be back soon! Thanks Residence Inn staff.

The staff had always been great c and the rooms are large and comfortable.

Pros: Nice location, big beds, clean rooms, has appliances and utensils. Also has an outdoor basketball half court which would be fun in the summer. And I’m 90% sure the morning breakfast used REAL eggs one day. Rooms and hallways smell fine, no real smoker smell. Internet was fast, never caused me any problems. Showers had fantastic water pressure. Cons: Can hear the upstairs neighbors stomping around at 6am, can hear every truck without a muffler on the interstate (although to be fair it becomes background noise eventually), hotel exterior and interior is old and is definitely showing signs of wear. Couch had some questionable stains on it.

We stay at this Residence Inn once or twice a year when we come back to Cedar Rapids to visit family and friends. Always a pleasant experience, but wanted to give a special shout out to Amy at the front desk this time. She was here when we checked in yesterday and she was back again this morning when we came down for breakfast. The breakfast attendant had let several items run out, maybe because it was getting later in the breakfast window, but when Amy saw this, she jumped in and cooked/heated more and extended the breakfast window for everyone. She is clearly dedicated to the guests and her employer. Marriott should be grateful to have her. Thanks Amy!!
